Make Money At Home With Medium

The Coronavirus pandemic has caused more and more people to seek out new ways to make money at home. There are many platforms that offer a variety of freelance job opportunities. Although it can take a little while to learn the ropes, once you get up to speed it’s possible to earn a thousand dollars a month or more with a minimal time commitment.

In this article I’ll go through some of the platforms that I’ve used to make money at home. Keep in mind that the faster you work, the more you’ll be able to make. Most of the freelance opportunities I look for require decent grammar skills and the ability to produce high-quality articles in a short amount of time. If composing a thousand word essay takes you a week, these opportunities probably aren’t for you.

Medium

Medium is a publishing platform that provides some opportunity for earnings and great visibility for your articles. I found that the community on Medium is much more engaging, intelligent, and courteous than what you might find on Facebook.

Medium has a partnership plan that allows you to earn money when Medium members engage with your posts. Although you don’t have to pay for the membership to start earning, it is only $50 a year and it allows you to interact with an unlimited number of articles. The membership is great for writers who are looking for ways to network.

The idea with Medium is to generate a passive income. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see a lot of views or earnings in your first few weeks. As you increase your following on the platform, the earnings will steadily increase. I’ve been regularly adding articles to Medium for the last two months, and I expect to cross the $100 earning threshold for the first time in the next few days. Here are a couple articles that detail the process.

Content Writing

I’m more interested in establishing passive income on Medium than dedicating so much of my time to working as a content writer, but content writing remains a viable option.

The main difference with content writing is that you have to write about a completely random selection of topics. You are essentially providing copy for professional web pages, so your work is dependent on client expectations.

Here are some articles I’ve done recently on the joys (and the sorrows of content writing):

Influencer Marketing and Reviews

Many writers have a strong social media following and it’s possible to leverage that following into some extra income. Web pages like Intellifluence allow you to build a profile and get access to great opportunities.

For the moment, I’m most interested in developing my presence on Medium even as I continue to pursue other freelance, content writing, and influencer opportunities. Feel free to follow me here.

I’ll follow back, and if you tag me in an article I’ll make sure to share it to help build your visibility.
