Lose Weight Fast by Hiking Machu Picchu

Most fast weight loss programs are a crock of garbage, but the one that I'm pitching here is the absolute truth. I mean, all you have to do is look at the posted pictures. The amazing thing is, these pictures weren't taken within weeks or months of each other....NO!...these pictures were taken 2 DAYS APART. That's right, the before picture is Monday and the After picture is Wednesday.

As you can see from the "Before" picture, I'm a fat ass. It doesn't help that I'm wearing non flattering baggy clothes and I've got my stomach sticking out like a bloated corpse...I'm still fat. Just look at the expression on my friend Frank's face...that's right, it's DISGUST that he's got displayed there.

Well, what did we do? The next day we took the train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes and walked around Machu Picchu all day. Then we stayed overnight in Aguas Calientes and hiked up to Machu Picchu AGAIN the following day. We went all the way up to the top of Wayna Picchu and back the next day.

Here's the picture as I was coming down the mountain:

Sure, I'm all covered in nasty sweat/water that I'd been pouring over my head, and I've got as little on as possible (less to carry up that darn moutain...it's the one in the background by the way), but I'm definately thinner!
So, people, THIS is the way to handle Machu Picchu. You can go out there and TEST yourself. It's a fun frickin' place to hike. And it's a guaranteed way to loose a couple KG (or at least kind of make it LOOK like you lost a couple KG which is just as good).

  1. Good times and epic hikes to be sure! Sprinting up the Longs Peak boulder field by the "keyhole" was another epic story. I'll never forget my shivering and your hugging a rock to stay cool once we got up there! That is still one of the most humbling experiences of my life. I'll try to find a picture of that epic craziness!
